中庸、折衷主义与价值判断

对“中庸”思想的理解也反对“过”与“不及”。在方法论的意义上,既不能把它视为“折衷主义”而给予过激的批判,也不能把它与“调和主义”混为一谈,逃避对事物作出价值判断。在中国现代化进程中,对“中庸”思想的误读,是不利于对中国传统文化核心思想的理解与发扬的。

The understanding of 'Middlebrow' should also take the middle way. In the sense of methodology, the 'Middlebrow' should not be criticized as eclecticism, nor be mixed with reconciliation avoiding making value judgment on matters. In Chinas modernization drive, the misunderstanding on 'Middlebrow' is not beneficial to the understanding and the promotion of the core ideology of Chinas traditional culture.
