摘要
谢灵运是晋宋之际的名士兼佛学家,慧远乃庐山高僧。谢灵运“志学之年”便崇拜慧远,发愿“希门人之末”,而且也曾游庐山,见慧远,为檀越,凿池筑台植白莲,应邀撰《佛影铭》。其庐山情结不为不笃挚,但“诚愿弗遂”,最终没有成为慧远的弟子。他与慧远的交往情形比较复杂和特别,若即若离的深层原因乃在于谢灵运诸端“心杂”的个性与思想特征。
XIE Ling-yun is a literary celebrity and a specialist in Buddhism at the turn of Jin Dynasty and Song Dynasty while HUI Yuan is an eminent monk. XIE Ling-yun began to admire HUI Yuan and made up his mind to be HUI Yuans disciple when he was 15 years old. He once visited Mt. Lushan and called on HUI Yuan. He had some pools and pavilions built and white lotus planted in charity. He was even invited to write The Inscription of the image of Buddhism. Though his affection on Mt. Lushan was very sincere, he didnt realize his dream to become HUI Yuans disciple. His association with HUI Yuan was rather complicated and special. The deep reason of their lukewarm relation laid in XIE Ling-yuns special personality and characteristics in thoughts.
