The article discussed the limitation of CSSCI as a citation index that copied SCI, and pointed out that it would bring about many problems if we managed personnel and research work in university according to CSSCI and current humanities and social science evaluation mechanism. The author also emphasized that the dispute about CSSCI would help us to rethink the academic evaluation standard and university management culture and offered useful reference to found modern university institution.
