Hua Guan of the Qing Dynasty dnew pictures for many aristocrats and men of letters.'Pleasure Seeking'is a work in the 55th year of Emperor Qian Long.It features strong strokes and fine lines,stressing the exaggeration of background and plots.Study of this picture may help understand the role of folk painters in the cultural life of the imperial court and the evolution of portrait paintings in the middle period of the Qing Dynasty.
