This paper, by analysing and interpreting the creative background, poetic imagination and expressed images of Southern Gard 13 Poems by Li He, sums up the author's complex thinking emotions expressed in the whole poem and puts in order the thematic information indicated in the poem. As an important poet in Chinese mid - Tang times, Li He s mentality after resignation from the office represented the complex thinking emotions of literary men in and out of office in a certain time. The mentality expressed in Southern Gard 13 Poems is particularly representative.
