As far as Chinese revolutionary history is concerned, there appeared two historical narrations which are quite different from each other in view of history and view of aesthetics as well. One is 17-year-period revolutionary historical novel, the other is new-period new historical novel. The former is a narration which deifies and heroizes revolutionary history, the latter is to secularize and mortalize revolutionary history. But there has long been a historical narration which tries its best to reconcile or transcend the two extremes. Xiang Xiaomi' s work, Silent Heroes, is the representative work of some woman writers works, which reveal women s examination of history and introspection of war.
