Clinical analysis of 9 cases with Isaacs syndrome

目的:探讨罕见的Isaacs综合征的临床特点、诊断及治疗方法。方法:对本院收治的9例lsaacs综合征的临床表现、实验室检查及治疗预后进行回顾性分析。结果:9例主要表现为自发性连续性肌肉颤搐,睡眠不消失。肌电图发现持续的自发运动电位发放。卡马西平或苯妥英钠控制症状较好。结论:颤搐表现结合肌电图是诊断本综合征关键,控制症状可用卡马西平或苯妥英钠,并可进行免疫治疗。

Objective: To evaluate the characteristics, diagnosis and therapy of Isaacs' syndrome. Methods: Analyze clinical data, laboratory examination, treatment and prognosis in 9 cases of Isaacs' syndrome retrospectively. Results: The primary clinical phenomena of 9 cases was spontaneous and persistent muscle cramps that also appears during sleeping. Electromyography showed spontaneous and continuous motor unit discharges. A remarkable improvement has been obtained with the administration of carbamazepine or phenytoin. Conclusion the diagnosis of Isaacs' syndrome mainly depends on clinical features of myokymia and the changes of EMG. The symptomatic treatment consists of administration of carbamazepine or phenytoin, the immunomodulating therapeutic approaches can be tried.
