On the Application of Figure-background Theory in College English Teaching

摘要 文章将图形———背景理论与语境相结合,从理论与实际相结合的角度,讨论了图形———背景理论的基本内容及语言学意义;图形———背景理论在大学教学中是如何现实操作的。介绍了图形———背景理论的心理认知基础,并力图挖掘该理论与大学英语阅读理解、写作教学方面的联系,为大学英语教学提供了理论基础。 Combining the figure-background theory with context theory, mainly from the combination of theory and examples, this article discusses the basic content and linguistic implication of figure-background theory; and the specific applications of figure-background theory in college English teaching. The article also introduces the psychological cognitive basis of figure-background theory and tries to discover the relations between the theory and college English teaching. At last, the article will lay a theoretical foundation for the CET on reading comprehension and writing.
