Magic mountain is Thomas Mann's masterpiece including many of his important ideas.Through the atmosphere of death and disease,the theme nihilism is obvious,the conflict between rationalism and sensualism is very serious and forms the binary opposition.Through love and music Thomas Mann wants to solve the problem between them,which represents his humanistic spirit.
