无锡话属吴语太湖片。从描写语言学角度来看,无锡话形容词可分为基式和变式两类,其中基式分单音节和双音节,变式分重叠式、扩展式(又分前加式、中嵌式和后附式三种)。以普通话为参照,无锡话中的形容词在构成形式、表义作用和语法功能方面有一定特色。

The Wuxi Dialcet is one of the Wu Dialects spoken in the Taihu Lake area.In terms of descriptive linguistics,adjectives in Wuxi Dialcet can be divided into groups according to their original forms and variants.The original form of an adjective can have one or two syllables.Variations include reduplication and extension(by prefixiation,infixiation and suffixiation).With respect to Mandarin,adjectives in Wuxi Dialcet have special features in terms of construction form,semantic function and grammatical function.
