在现代社会里,大学被誉为人类社会发展的动力站。知识的保存、传授、传播、应用和创新,文明的传承和进步,人才的发掘与培育,科学的发展与技术的更新,社会的文明与理智,不同文化之间的交流与沟通,无不依赖大学作为基础。改革开放依赖我国对于大学的关注和投入都不断增加,大学自身的改革也正如火如荼,方兴未艾。在我国的大学究竟向何处去这样的一个历史时刻,追根溯源,正本清流,从大学的历史、大学的理念来重新看待目前我国的大学改革之路,也许正是一件最具有意义的工作。

Coming through difficulties for years,universities have become one of the most significant organizations of modern society.With its significance growing day by day,universities have been put as the engine of human society's development. The preservation, impartation, spread, application and innovation of knowledge, the continuity and development of culture, the detection and cultivation of the talented,the development of science and the update of technology, the civilization of society,the communication between different cultures-- all these are all dependent on universities.China pays more and more attention to universities since opening her door to the world. The reformation of universities initiated by themselves are also in the ascendant. Where should our universities head for? At this moment, looking back at their history and giving a second thought of their reformation is quite meaningful.
