A Tentative Approach to the Double Layered Structure of Feminist Perspective in Homer’s Epic

一般对于“荷马史诗”所做的关于女性主义文学批评的研究都认为,在史诗中有一种男权思想,女性处于劣势的地位;论题试图在理清这种“男权中心”、女性处于“待救”状态的表层结构的同时,进一步揭示“荷马史诗”时代与史前社会母系氏族时代的传承关系,以探究史诗中所隐藏的关于“女性崇拜”的深层结构。

Conventional study of the feminist criticism on Homer’ epic assumes that the classical work is androcentric, with women depicted as disadvantaged and “awaiting to be saved”. This paper ventures to look beyond the surface structure of the epic and to reveal its underlying layer of structure marked by female adoration. This double-layered structure reflects a succession from prehistoric matriarchal society to Homeric era.
