Analysis on the Spatial Configu-ration of Langzhong Ancient City in Sichuan

四川古城阆中是我国著名的历史文化名城。古城的选址考虑了“设险防卫”的需要,并以儒家“择中观”为指导;古城的规划思想受到风水学说的影响;街巷呈棋盘式方格网布局;功能与职能分区合理,行政机关被置于城内显要位置,祭祀设施、宗教设施等则被置于城外。

Langzhong,an ancient city in Sichuan,is a famous historic and cultural city in China.The study on its spatial configuration,which is made on the basis of literature and historical data,shows that consideration was given to the need for'defense by selecting a place difficult to access'in site se- lection and was guided by the Confucian idea of 'Looking through selection'.The idea in planning of the ancient city is influenced by the theory of geomantic omen.The streets are arranged in the shape of a chessboard.The administrative organs are arranged in the prominent place in the city and facilities for offering sacrifice and human facilities are arranged outside the city with proper division of function and performance.
