右江流域在近代历史上是云贵鸦片过境广西的主要通道之一,大量的鸦片和从事鸦片贩运所获取的暴利深刻影响右江流域内的人民,引起大量人们广泛参与吸食、贩运、种植鸦片。右江流域内经济的兴衰跟鸦片有着千丝万缕的关系。

The valley of the Youjiang River was one of the main passage of opium, which was brought from Yunnan and Guizhou and was going to pass through Guangxi in modern times. A large quantity of opium and the sudden huge profits captured from opium smuggling profoundly affected people in the valley. A lot of them extensively joined in planting, smuggling, and sucking opium. There were countless links between opium and the ups and downs of the economy in the Youjiang River.
