以人地系统科学为指导,在总结人类聚居学、建筑学和地理学等有关人居环境研究的基础上,阐述了建立人居地理学的必要性、人居地理学的概念、研究对象和学科性质和研究原则,着重讨论了人居地理学的主要研究内容.以不同形态的聚落和人类个体居住空间为研究对象的人居地理学的建立,有利于拓展人地关系研究领域和完善人文地理学学科体系,为城乡规划、土地评价、房地产开发等提供有力的决策支持,具有重要理论意义和实践价值.

Under the theoretical guidance of human-land system science,and on the basis of summarizing the human resident environments from the various subjects such as Ekistics,architecture and geography etc.the paper expounds the requirement of establishing Human Residence Geography,its conception,study object and subject property,and its study principles,as well as emphatically discusses the main study contents of Human Residence Geography. Establishing the science of Human Residence Geography,which regards different form settlements and individual resident space as its study object,is in favor of extending the research domain on man and land relationship and perfecting the subject system of humanity geography,and it can provide the available decision-making support for urban-rural programming,land evaluation and real estate exploitation,etc.So it takes on important theoretical significance and practical value.
