Facing both the big gap in the economies of China and Western countries and the most favourable circumstances of world economic development to China,Deng Xiaoping was seized with an idea from deliberation to maturation of catching up and overtaking the worlds advanced levels.Well reflecting the great thinkers distinctive features in a harmonious unity of his sense of urgency of the times and historic mission,of open policy and independence and self reliance,of developing our national economy and improving peoples livelihood,of science and rational faculty,and of aspiration and reality,such an idea is a repositioning to Chinas developmental strategies of economy.
