WTO法律文本汉译的误译及原因分析——以《WTO估价协定》为例

An Analysis of Mistranslating WTO Legal Text into Chinese and its Cause——Illustrated by Agreement on Implementation of Article VII of the General Agreement on Tariff and Trade 1994

鉴于WTO法律文本涉及多门学科,如政治、经济、国际贸易、商品学、价格学等,要译好此类文本并不容易。通过对《WTO估价协定》汉译本的词汇误译和语法误译的分析,指出要使法律文件表达严谨、准确,译者必须较好把握语言和专业两大方面的知识和技巧。

As WTO legal text relates to various subjects, such as politics, economics, international trade, merchandising and price theory, it poses some difficulties for translating this kind of text. By analyzing the mistranslations both in vocabulary and grammatical structures of Chinese version of Agreement on Implementation of Article VII of the General Agreement on Tariff and Trade 1994, this paper suggests that a translator should have a good command of language and professional knowledge for the purpose of translating legal texts in precise and accurate expressions.
