李元出生于蒙古,活动于元世祖忽必烈时期,参与了对西北各地藩王发动武装叛乱的西征及平叛,并为多处路总管。该志还涉及到元朝初期朝廷用人制度,对研究元史具有重要的史料价值。

Liyuan, born in the invading and expanding period of Mongolia, acted in the reign of first emperor of the Yuan Dynasty. He participated in conquering the west regions of the country and surpassing the rebellion that was held by the governors of the northwest regions, and was appointed as the manager of many routes. The epitaph concerns the system of choosing qualified personnel at the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, and has important historical value in studying the history of the Yuan Dynasty.
