On the Linguistic Style of Chairman Mao

Since a style reveals one’s aesthetic understanding, Chairman Mao Tze-tung’s linguistic style has reflected his unique aesthetic tropism and value. Mao forms his own style through his life and writing experiences. This paper makes a detailed study on his linguistic styles and classify them into four types: vividness for easy understanding, combination of emotions and reason, richness of imagination, and innovation on the basis of combining what is present and ancient. He can well be regarded a model and master of language use.
