The effects of carbon disulphide(CS2) on the induction of chromosome abnormalities in human spermatozoa were studied by means of in vitro tes system of human sperm chromosome. The sperm samples were exposed to CS2 at the concentrations of 1, 5, 10μmol/ml for 3.5 hours respectively during the period of their preincubation before interspecific in vitro fertilization with zona-free hamster oocytes. The mean of chromosome breakages were 0.040,0.120,0. 643 per spermatozoon sequentially in the above dosage groups. Both the incidence of spermatozoa with structurally chromosomal aberrations and the mean of breakages in the CS2(10μmol/L)-exposed group were statistically higher than those in the control(P<0. 001).The results suggested that the mutagenic effects on male gametes would be induced by certain amount of CS2.
