Re-creativity of Translation

翻译不是语言文字的机械转换,而是一项再创造性的活动。由于两种语言文化之间的差异,翻译过程中再创造是必不可少的,但这种再创造是有条件、有限度的,它必须遵循忠实性原则。

Translation is not a mechanic transfer of language but a re-creative activity. Due to the linguistic and cultural differences between the source language and the target language, re-creation in translation is quite necessary. However, there is a limit to the re-creation, which is subject to some conditions, particularly the faithfulness principle.
