摘要
主要针对车辆牌照自动识别系统中的一个重要功能块——车牌分割,提出了一种基于车牌字符串纹理特性的车牌快速定位方法。试验结果表明,此方法快速地搜索车牌并准确定位,便于下一步的字符分割和识别。
Accurate and rapid license plate segmentation is a key step in the automatic recognition techniques of vehicle license plate. A rapidsegmentation method based on the texture features of characters is proposed by a two-step segmentation. The related plate’s area can be found by thefirst step. The characters in the license plate can be segmented accurately by the second step. Experimental results demonstrate efficiency androbustness of this segmentation method in the automatic recognition system.
