The applying of semiotics in the study of translation has shown some advantages. It helps to put the whole linguistic transferring process beyond the scope of pure language and in a wider cultural background. It is from the perspective of semio-translation that this article treats of the basic transferring process of English and Chinese linguistic signs so as to deepen our understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of the translation.
