改革开放以来,农民工阶层的形成促使统一战线内部关系发生新变化,工农联盟也出现了前所未有的新情况。与传统意义上的农民仍然有着密切联系的农民工阶层中,一部分正逐渐向产业工人队伍转化,从而成为工人阶级的重要组成部分;一部分则向非公有制工商人士阶层转化;还有一部分在向农村复归,而成为“回流农民”。因此,团结农民工阶层、做好这一阶层的统战工作,对增强党的阶级基础,扩大党的群众基础,维护社会稳定,以实现统一战线大团结大联合的目标,推动经济发展具有重大的理论和现实意义。
