网格是继万维网之后出现的一种新型网络计算平台,其服务功能主要是分布式超级计算、高吞吐率计算、分布式仪器系统、数据密集型计算、信息集成和远程沉浸等。网格技术的服务功能决定了网格目前的应用重点在电子政务、科学研究领域、信息处理和个人娱乐等方面。
The grid is a kind of new-type network computing platform following WWW. Its primary service function is distributed supercomputing, throughput computing, distributed instrumentation system, data inten-(sive) computing, information integration and tele-immersion. The service function of the grid technology has determined the grid application. It is mainly used in such aspects as E-government affairs, science research field, information processing and personal amusement etc.
