The Newly Discovered Lost Works by Wang Shipeng and Zhu Xi and Their Documentory Value

清乾隆十五年刊《禹山仁村竹氏宗谱》是一部未见著录的罕见版本,书前所载王十朋《东海竺氏家谱序》、朱熹《宋驸马淮宁伯文甫竺公行状》更是不见于两人文集与年谱的重要佚文,堪补《宋史》、《嵊志》与二人文集、年谱之缺,对研究嵊县禹山仁村竺氏一支姓源变迁以及此谱编纂缘起,与夫竺简生平大节、朱熹政治思想倾向,均有一定学术参考价值。

A Genealogy of the Zhus in Ren Village of Yushan, printed in the 15th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty, is a rare edition of whom description is unseen. In addition, the two articles in the front pages, Preface to Genealogy of the Zhus from Donghai by Wang Shipeng and A Profile of Huaining Earl Zhu Wenfu - a Fuma of the Song Dynasty by Zhu Xi, are particularly important lost articles, which cannot be found in their collections and annals. They may supplement omissions in The History of the Song Dynasty, A County Gazetteer of Sheng, and the collected works and annalist-style records of the two authors. And they also have referential value for academic research on the origin and changes of the branch of the Zhus in Ren Village of Yushan, Sheng, on the cause of compilation of the genealogy, on the outline of Zhu Jian’s life story, and on Zhu Xi’s tendency of political thoughts.
