By way of postmodernist writing skills, Mo Yan's Si Shi Yi Pao narrates a current Chinese story of 'modernity', yet behind the revelry is a strong sense of classical nostalgia. So far as its form and content are concerned, Si Shi Yi Pao is the uppermost feat in Mo Yan's fiction creation while it is also demonstrative of his value loss in 'folk discourse'.
