Brief Report on Excavation of the Tombs at Yonganpu,xiaogan

曹家湾墓地,位于孝感城北郊,滚子河的东岸。1991年-1993年为配合建设工程,在此发掘清理南朝砖室墓5座,唐代砖室2座,共出土瓷器、滑石器、银器、铜器及铜钱等30余件。这批墓葬构筑形制讲究,时代特征明显,对于研究鄂东北地区六朝及唐代砖室墓的演变规律,提供了新的实物资料。

Five brick-chambered tombs of the Southern dynasties and two of the Tang dynasty were excavated at Caojiawan, located at the northern outskirt of the Xiaogan city and the eastern bank of the Guizi River, and yield 30 artifacts, including porcelain articles, silver wares, bronzes and coins. The tomb is elaborately constructed and bears vivid temporal characteristics. The excavation provides new materials for study on the development of the brick-chambered tombs of the Six dynasties and the Tang dynasty in northern Hubei.
