Facing History Squarely and Thinking Independently——A Review of My Studies of Modern Chinese Literature

在研究中国现代文学的同辈学人中,支克坚以侧重于对革命文学特别是革命文艺思潮作宏观的思考为其特点。在文章中,以自己在新时期之初关于鲁迅的几篇论文的写作,和后来《冯雪峰论》、《胡风论》、《周扬论》三本专著的写作为经,介绍了其研究的指导思想形成和发展的过程,以及他经过研究所达到的对于革命文学的认识。

My studies of modern Chinese literature are focused on revolutionary literature, especially on macroscopic reflections on revolutionary artistic thoughts. In light of my papers on Lu Xun at the beginning of the new period, and books like On Feng Xuefeng, On Hu Feng and On Zhou Yang, I here introduce the process in which the guiding principles of my studies have formed and developed as well as my understanding of the revolutionary literature over years of studies.
