Based on the regularity and implication of the image of transformation from foxes into fairies in classical Chinese novels in the Ming & Qing Dynasty, the author tries to probe some cultural senses of works about fox-fairies. Influenced by Confucians, men are both in fear and adoration of women. Fox-fairies are the images of women. The charm and lewdness of the fox-fairies are the different reactions of men′s mentalities.
