An Idea on the Modern Features of the Graceful Normal Human Feelings --A New Perspective on the Theme of Shen Cong -wen's Novels

沈从文的小说创作,一方面呼唤引进现代性的人性,宣扬优美健康自然的理想人性;另一方面又对现代性的工具理性和人文理性的内部功能的相互僭越而导致的人性异化、丑陋和麻木表示抵抗与批判,背后流露的更多的是作者对湘西未来社会的忧虑与悲痛,又对之有着一种预警和价值设防。由此,在中国文学史、思想史上有着独特的地位与思想价值。

Shen Cong - wen's novels, on one hand, appealed lor the normal human leelings with modern features and advocated beautiful, healthy and natural ideal. On the other hand, it criticized the alienation, ugliness and apathetic ration. It reveals the author's worries and sorrows towards the future society in Western Hunan. Therefore it keeps its unique position and value in the history of Chinese literature.
