This paper uses the critical approach to analyze two news stories which hold different stand points towards the death of Dr Kelly, who is a nuke expert. The two news items, which seem to be very objective, are analyzed primarily to show the way in which discourse is exploited by ideology. And in this way, the news relates to some sets of social, psychological, and cognitive interests of different classes it represents.
