The different origins of unlevel dyeing (color streaks) as quality deficiency of textiles are discussed. A special role is played by the fineness unevenness. It is shown that unlevel dyeing of textiles depends mainly on the longitudinal unevenness of the fineness of the multifilament yarn and is less influenced by the transverse unevenness.
