English writing problems reflected from TEM8

英语写作一直是大学英语专业教学中的薄弱环节。分析了一次英语专业八级考试中所反映出来的英语写作的两个问题,即在校英语专业学生写作成绩低于往届考生和写作与其他语言技能存在低相关。并进一步分析了产生这些问题的原因,向教师及学生提出了一些合理化的建议。

English writing has always been a weak point in English teaching in college.This paper mainly analyzes two problems about English writing reflected in an TEM8:one is that English majors studying at school achieved less than those who have graduated; the other one is that English writing has low correlation with other language skills.At the same time,the reasons for the two problems are probed and some reasonable teaching and writing advice is given as well in this paper.
