摘要
文章对400名地方理工科大学生就影响其英语学习结果的诸多个体差异如个人背景、个人心理因素及社会心理因素进行了调查并采用数理统计学研究方法对其进行了相关分析。研究结果发现:学习者个人背景、个人心理因素及社会心理因素对语言成绩具有预测能力;语言学习成功者与不成功者在个人背景、个人心理因素及社会心理因素方面均存在着明显差异。研究结果对理工科院校大学英语教学具有实际指导意义。
The paper investigates 400 Chinese non-English majors in local colleges of science and engineering in their individual differences such as personal background, personal psychological factors and socio-psychological factors that influence English learning results and makes a correlation analysis by means of mathematical statistics research method. The study reveals that language learners' personal background, personal psychological factors and socio-psychological factors can predict their language learning achievements and that there are significant differences between successful and unsuccessful learners of English in terms of personal background, personal psychological factors and socio-psychological factors. This study has its pedagogical and practical implications in college English teaching in colleges of science and engineering.
