On Teaching of Translation of Long Sentences between English and Chinese

英语阅读理解长期以来是英语教学的弱项。要解决这个问题,需要做多方面的探讨。但万丈高楼平地起,文章是由句子构成的。本文从英汉句子结构的本质着手,分析了它们的结构差异,并指出了它们对英汉互译的启示。

s: Reading comprehension in English has been a difficult part in English teaching ever since. Studies in many perspectives should be carried out to solve the problem. Since sentences are basic units of articles, it is quite necessary to analyze the different structural characteristics of sentences in English and Chinese as well. The present paper, starting with the analysis of their differences, points out its implications for translation between English and Chinese.
