"群"是荀子思想的一个重要组成部分。它源自原始的血族群体意识,经荀子以"分"限定,成为一个自觉的观念。以"群"为根本特征,人的生命社会化和个体自由在社会与历史的维度上得到了实现,从而推进了孟子、庄子以来对人的自由的探索。

As an important component of the thoughts of Xunzi , the 'group', as first stemmed from the sense of primal blood group relations, has been an conscious concept defined by Xunzi with the idea of 'division'. With the 'group' as the major characteristics, the socialization and individual freedom of human beings have been embodied on the dimensionality of society and history. In this way Xunzi has promoted the exploration of freedom of human beings since Chuang Tzu and Mencius.
