张说的《梁四公记》、《镜龙记》、《绿衣使者传》、《传书燕》四篇传奇,无论题材还是叙事艺术,都表现出了明显的时代特征和艺术进步,显示出一种向成熟文体过渡的性质,是唐传奇文体发生学上的重要环节。
Zhang Yue wrote four romances:' Stories about Liang Sigong', 'Stories about Jing Long', 'Biography of The Green-clad Ambassador', and 'Letter-Delivering Swallows'. Those novels, obviously revealing a sign of transition to sophisticated style, are important parts in the shaping of romance styles in the Tang Dynasty.
