On the Main Narrative Features of "Heart of Darkness"

约瑟夫·康拉德是2 0世纪英国现代主义文坛的先驱之一。他的短篇小说《黑暗中心》叙事手法独特,意蕴深刻,是英国小说史上的经典之作。小说中两个人物叙述者分置于不同结构层次,有效地相互作用,构成精巧的框型叙事结构,让读者在阅读的同时一步步发掘认识故事所提示的殖民主义的“黑暗”本质。

Joseph Conrad is one of the pioneers in twentieth-century modernist literary world in England. With original narrative technique and profound thematic implications, 'Heart of Darkness', one of Conrad's novellas, is recognized as a classic in the history of English novels. Within this novella, the two personal narrators posed in different levels interact with each other to good effect, forming a delicate frame stnmture, and thus enabling readers to gradually explore and understand the 'darkness' of colonialism in the course of reading.
