Textual Research on the Gao Kegong who is Huihui’s Painter in Yuan Dynasty

高克恭是元朝前期著名的少数民族画家,在中国绘画史上影响深远,但研究尚嫌不足,许多事迹不甚清楚。高克恭的政治生涯和艺术事业,与以杭州士人群体为中心的江南人文环境,特别是与周密、赵孟頫等人影响有很深的关系。他的艺术成就,他的诗书画创作趋向,都生动地反映了元朝多民族文化和南北文化之间的交流融合,他和赵孟頫的友谊,是这一交流活动的重要标志。

Gao Ke-gong is one of the few famous muslin painters during the early period of Yuan Dynasty, who had profound influence upon the historical development of Chinese painting. But we still do not know much about this figure because of the deficiency of related studies. Gao raised a net of relationship with many famous names, such as Zhou-Mi, Zhao Meng-fu, and his artistic achievements, his friends all reflect the communications between the south and the north of China, and among the different nationalities. His friendship with Zhao Meng-fu is specially important for these intercommunication activities.
