The design and realization of the calibration and test system of the inertial instrument based on RS - 232 is introduced in the paper. Inertial instrument which is the missile system' s sensitive element in measuring must be calibrated and tested before using. The hardware design and the software programming of the system are discussed firstly. It adopts the technology of RS - 232 interface and can carry out test for serval inertial instrument at the same time. It can realize various kinds of experiment and the performance calibration test,and test Data will be save into the Database automatically,so as to carry out automatic Data management. Its test accuracy is high and its test speed is fast,can be used in the engineering.
