This paper introduces the general situation of structural design of a 28000DWT multipurpose cargo vessel,and describes the application of three dimensional finite element analytic calculation of cargo ships sections in designing this ship and its action on cutting down the construction cost.The paper also puts forward the measures which can prevent the affection of hull vibration caused by the RTA48T 5 cylinder engine.At the same time it discusses the installation of the crane derrick post and the reinforcement of strength of local hull such as cargo hold platform,etc.
