读者在阅读英语文章时,常常会遇到一些生词,对于这些词的正确猜测将有助于读者对整个文章的理解。猜词的方法有很多,如:定义法;找该词在句子中的同位语,定语从句,解释性词语的方法;对比词与词的同义及反义关系的方法;举例法;构词法。同时,也可以通过上下文,结合常识推测词义。

When we read an article,we often run across some new words.How to infer the new word meanings will be helpful in our correct understanding the whole passage.Many methods can be used to infer the word meanings.First,we can infer the new word meaning by definition,appositive,attributive clause and explanatory words.Second,we can do this by comparing the similar and opposite relationships between the words.Third,we can know the new word meaning by looking for some examples which can explain it and by the word formation.Finally,we can do this through context and our common sense.
