连云港市工业化仅处于钱纳里划分的工业化阶段中的工业化初期阶段。总体来看,连云港市的工业化水平不仅与全省平均水平有很大差距,在苏北地区中也是处于相对落后的位置,工业化初期阶段特征明显。对于工业化水平落后的连云港市来说,加快工业化进程,是带动该地区经济持续、快速、健康发展的战略选择。

Lianyungang's industrialization is at the early stage according to the industrialization stages divided by Hollis Burley Chenery, an American economist. As a whole, Lianyungang's industrialization level is much lower than the provincial average level and also lags comparatively in areas of the Northern Jiangsu. The feature of the early industrialization stage is obvious. So acceleration of industrialization process is the strategic choice for Lianyungang to promote sustained, rapid and sound development of Lianyungang's economy.
