A Quantitative and Contrastive Stylistic Analysis of Civil Engineering English

对工程英语———ESP的次语体进行文体量化分析研究,并与美国当代作家马克·赫尔蒲恩的短篇小说《白色的花园》的开篇段进行文体比较。通过量化分析和与英语文学文体进行的对比,得出工程英语的文体特征,从而提高人们对工程英语文体特征的鉴赏能力,并以此扩大ESP的研究范围。

It is attempted to make a quantitative and contrastive stylistic analysis of civil engineering English,one of the sub-style of ESP.Through the comparison with the stylistic features of English literature,the foregrounding,protruding and distinctive features of civil engineering English will be revealed,which can enhance people’s percipience to SCEE and extend the scope of ESP as well.
