对国际贸易和国际直接投资理论集成或一体化而言存在以下困境:传统国际贸易与FDI理论关于不完全竞争的假定前提不同;没有同时包容纵向和横向FDI现象的直接投资理论;旧的国际贸易理论受到新的国际贸易现象的冲击。通过对比较优势定义扩充后,新的比较优势是决定国际贸易和FDI的根本原因,通过影响不同的对外扩张(即国际贸易和FDI)的交易成本进而产生不同对外扩张的决策。

In terms of the integration point of theories of international trade & FDI, there exist the following predicaments: The hypotheses in relation to traditional international trade and FDI are different; there is no such theory which can embrace both vertical and horizontal FDI; the old theory is under the impact of the new. By enlarging the definition of the comparative advantage, the new comparative advantage becomes fundamental causes generating FDI and international trade. Different decisions on foreign expansion are made through the influence of transaction cost of international trade and FDI.
