摘要
一般认为,在英语中,选择主动语态或被动语态是风格上的区别,没有对错之分。本文进一步认为,选择被动语态是作者(说话者)的主观行为,却又受到了诸多客观因素,如表达目的、读者、上下文衔接及语体的制约。本文从这四个方面对英语被动语态的使用进行了分析和总结,从语用角度考察了被动语态的语用意义。
It is generally held that the use of active voice or passive voice is a matter of taste, not of correctness. This article further suggests, choosing passive voice is the author's will, but is subject to such objective factors as purpose,readers, cohesion and varieties of English. This article is aimed to provide a pragmatical approach to the use of passive voice.
