工人阶级的状况关乎党的性质和阶级基础,其意义不言而喻。历史地看,先进性是工人阶级的突出特征。然而今日之中国已经进入了一个全新的时代,正在经历着时代洗礼的工人阶级自身也发生了诸多显著变化。“工人阶级的先进性也在发展”的论断,是对当代工人阶级先进性的再次肯定,同时也是对工人阶级先进性具有与时俱进、不断回应时代发展要求特性的认同。

The condition of working class is critical to the nature and class basis of the Party. Historically, advancement characterizes working class. With the advent of a new era, working class is undergoing changes. The notion that working class is constantly developing is an acknowledgement of the advancement of working class.
