为害柘树的叶蝉新种——柘树背索叶蝉(同翅目:叶蝉科:广头叶蝉亚科)

A New Species of Leafhopper Injurious to Tricuspid Cudrania (Homoptera:Cicadellidae:Macropsinae)

发现一个为害柘树的叶蝉新种:柘树背索叶蝉PediopsiscudraniaeCaietWangsp.nov.。对其形态进行了研究,并附有特征图。模式标本保存在苏州大学昆虫标本室。

This paper deals with a new species of leafhopper injurious to tricuspid cudrania. The new species, Pediopsis cudraniae Cai et Wang, resembles Pediopsis femorata Hamilton, from which it can be distinguished by the smaller body size, scutellum marked with 2 black triangles on anterior margin, hind tibiae each armed with 8 macrosetae, female 7th sternite with prominent W-shaped median notch. Length: ♂2 4~3 0 mm,♀3 1~3 5 mm;length incl. tegm.: ♂3 5~3 9 mm,♀4 2~4 5 mm. Holotype ♂, Shanghe County, Shangdong Province, 2003-V-21, coll. Yan Jiahe, Host plant: Cudrania tricuspidata (Carr.) Bur. ; paratypes 5♂♂3♀♀, same as holotype. The type specimens are deposited in the Insect Collection, Soochow University.
