Speculation on Further Building up the Ranks of the CPC in Colleges and Universities

加强高校党员队伍建设,对于提高党在高校的执政能力和执政水平具有极其重要的现实意义和战略意义。因此必须从实践“三个代表”重要思想的高度,努力建设一支高素质的党员队伍,即正确把握党员标准, 严格发展党员程序,切实保证新党员质量;坚持与时俱进,针对党员思想实际,改进教育方式,努力提高党员队伍的思想政治素质;坚持从严治党,加强分类管理,始终保持党员队伍的先进性和纯洁性。

Further building up the ranks of the CPC in colleges and universities is strategically and practically critical to the improvement of the Party' s capacity and art of governing in institutions of higher learning. Therefore, the 'Three Represents Theory' should be put into practice in order to build up the ranks with members of high qualities; reasonable standards and strict procedures should be set up for admission of new Party members so as to ensure the quality of new members:educational methods should keep pace with the times and be adapted to the case with each member so as to improve Party members' spiritual and political quality; and administration of the Party should be made strict and classified management strengthened so as to ensure the progressiveness and purity of the ranks of the Party.
